What We Believe
-
We believe that God, the Father, is the Creator of all things (Gen 1:1) and sovereign in all things (Ps 103:19, Job 42:2). We believe that God is eternal (Ps 90:2,4), omnipresent (Jer 23:23-24), and fully righteous (Gen 18:25). He has divinely chosen his people and all who come to him through Jesus Christ are saved and adopted as his own (Rom 8:15).
-
We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the full manifestation of God in human flesh, coequal and coeternal with the Father. We believe that he became and remains fully man and fully God. He was divinely sent forth from the Father for the sole purpose of redeeming humanity from judgment and guilt. (John 1:1, John 10:30, Heb 1:3)
-
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, fully God and co-equal with the Father and the Son. On the day of Pentecost, Christ fulfilled his promise of sending the Holy Spirit to give birth to the church. We believe the role of the Holy Spirit in redemption is threefold: to convict us of our sins and draw us to Christ (John 6:44,16:7-11); to regenerate and baptize believers into the Body of Christ (John 3:6; 1 Cor. 2:11); and to sanctify and equip us to live redemptive lives (John 16:7,13; Acts 1:8; Rom. 8:11:13; 1 Peter 1:2).
-
We believe that God is one in being and exists eternally in three distinct, co-equal persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deut 6:4, Matt 28:19, 2 Cor. 13:14)
-
We believe that God, in His foreknowledge and omniscience, divinely chose and elected those He would redeem in Christ (Rom. 8:29, John 15:16; Eph. 1:4,5; 2 Thes. 2:13). We believe the Lord effectually calls believers to receive his grace through the preaching of the Word of God (Rom. 10:14,15). As individuals hear and receive God’s grace, they are simultaneously regenerated by the work of the Holy Spirit in the Spirit’s baptism, leading to faith and justification (Matt. 3:11; 1 Cor. 12:13).
-
We believe that “all Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16-17). We believe that Scripture, though written by human authors, was inspired and directed by the Holy Spirit, making every word the very Word of God (Matt. 5:18). We believe that inerrancy of Scripture is critical to the church, as it serves to share the Gospel and guide believers to all truth and practice while steering us from false teachings and error.
Our vision is to be a church that welcomes and embraces God’s people, growing together as we eagerly wait for the Lord’s return.
